      <image:title>About 2021</image:title>
<image:caption>I am a multidisciplinary artist in Portland, Oregon. I specialize in genre illustration, hand lettering, printmaking and ceramics. With over 10 years of experience printing both artistically and professionally, the process, aesthetic and work ethic of printing informs every aspect of my creative practice. I am particularly drawn to creating images of powerful women and non-binary folks in fantasy settings, claiming space in a genre that often caters overly much to the male gaze. While I take my art very seriously, I also feel it’s important to have a sense of humor about it. My comic and sequential art pokes fun at the mundane and fantastical alike, often taking aim at myself and my fraught relationship with social media. I also enjoy drawing rocks. Drawing on rocks is great too(shout out to my litho nerds). Photo by LeeAnn Dicicco</image:caption>

<image:title>Inktober 2020 - Haida was not always known as the Curse Hunter. There was a time when she was the mage of her village, powerful but kept secret from the king in the valley. The King’s fear and lust for Magic was so great, he had arranged for mages, wizards, witches and sorcerers to be brought before him, and they were forced to serve him until their powers were dried up, or until he grew suspicious of them. So Haida was hidden, both for her own sake and that of her community, who depended on her magic to help survive the harsh and unpredictable climate of their mountain home.</image:title>

<image:title>Inktober 2020 - Haida knew it was only a matter of time before the king sent someone to summon her to court, so she was suspicious of Ingriss despite their previous friendship. As a Royal Mage, he could have only one reason for approaching her mountain. He came as a friend, he assured her, and with the best intentions for her community. If she would only go with him, he assured, the king would not have to send a more forceful request. A request that could have consequences for those she protected</image:title>

<image:title>Inktober 2020 - The king was a man with a deep hunger. Unsatisfied with his imagined stature in the eyes of his neighbors, he turned his sword to the borders. The result was disastrous. His knights were arrogant in their belief of their own superiority, and overconfident that their swords were a match for the well trained magics of other lands. They were not. The mages he sent in support were poorly trained and fearful of the king’s wrath. They were easily swept aside. The Kong’s main fighting force was quickly defeated. But instead of giving up this folly, the king had a plan. A spell to create unstoppable soldiers out of even the meekest peasant, and a curtain of mist to hide them as they crossed the border. All he needed was the two mages who had just walked into his palace.</image:title>

<image:title>Inktober2020_2 - When they reached the end of the underground tunnels, it was time for Haida and the Mage Killer yo part ways. The Mage Killer could sense powerful magic within the palace, but was not about to sacrifice its newfound freedom on a tempting snack. Instead, the serpent rose above Haida, and out of its mouth a curved dagger emerged where a tongue should have been. The dagger fell to the floor at Haida’s feet. ‘Be warned, mage, this dagger is not meant for human flesh. It is a part of my own power and will cut through the lines of any spell work.’ The serpent turned to leave and disappeared into the empty corridors of the palace. I her mind she heard the echo of the Mage killer’s voice, ‘let us not meet again. Who’s to say how hungry I would be. I would rather not eat you, but it is my nature.’</image:title>

<image:title>Inktober2020_2 - Ingriss held the staff that once belonged to Haida. He had hoped she would agree to help him, but there was nothing for it now. He regretted having to throw her in the well. Still, there was work to be done, and very little time to waste. The king and his attendants had been removed from the castle while he cast this dangerous spell, and while Ingriss knew powerful magic couldn’t be rushed, he was keenly aware that the king was eager to put his plan into action.</image:title>
